Floristic analysis and a preliminary vegetation description of Arasbaran Biosphere Reserve, NW Iran

Abstract

Arasbaran protected area is located in NW Iran, is one of nine designated Biosphere Reserves in Iran. According to the literatures and the current study, 1067 plant taxa are identified in the area. Eighteen plant taxa of the area are endemic to Iran. Hemicryptophytes (42.5 %) are the most frequent life forms in the reserve followed by therophytes (25.8 %), cryptophytes (18.8 %), phanerophytes (8.1 %) and chamaephytes (4.8 %). Remarkable number of Irano-Turanian and Euro-Sibirian species characterizes the phytogeography of the area. Due to transitional climate of this area, two or pluriregional elements are frequent.

Abstract [Persian]

منطقه حفاظت شده ارسباران در شمال ‌غرب ایران، با مساحت 80654 هکتار یکی از نه ذخیره‌گاه زیستکره ایران محسوب می‌شود. با توجه به منابع موجود و تحقیق حاضر، 1067 آرایه گیاهی در این ذخیره‌گاه شناسایی شده است که از میان آن‌ها 18 گونه انحصاری ایران می‌باشد. از حیث شکل زیستی، همی‌کرپپتوفیت‌ها (5/42%) بیشترین فراوانی را در ذخیره‌گاه دارند و سپس تروفیت‌ها (8/25)، کریپتوفیت‌ها (8/18%)، فانروفیت‌ها (1/8%) و کامو‌فیت‌ها (8/4%) در رده‌های بعدی قرار می‌گیرند. حضور چشمگیر عناصر ایرانی- تورانی و اروپا- سیبری از ویژگی بارز جغرافیایی گیاهی منطقه است. با توجه به شرایط ویژه و وضعیت آب و هوایی منطقه، عناصر دو ناحیه‌ای و چند ناحیه‌ای در این ذخیره‌گاه فراوان هستند.
