First report of Byssochlamys spectabilis as a teleomorph of Paecilomyces variotii from Iran

Abstract

During 2009–10, cheese samples were collected from shops and cheese factories in Fars and Khuzestan provinces. Isolates were recovered from cheese using malt extract agar (MEA) and potato dextrose agar (PDA). Teleomorphic characteristics such as morphology of ascocarps, asci, ascospores and anamorphic characteristics such as conidiophores, phialides, conidia and chlamydospores were investigated. Based on the above criteria Byssochlamys spectabilis, the teleomorph of Paecilomyces varioii, was identified.

Abstract [Persian]

طی سالهای 89-1388، حضور گونه‌های آسکومیست از پنیرهای موجود در کارخانجات استان‌های فارس و خوزستان مورد بررسی قرار گرفت. جداسازی نمونه‌های قارچی با استفاده از محیط کشت‌های عصاره مالت آگار و عصاره سیب زمینی دکستروز آگار صورت گرفت. خصوصیات فرم جنسی شامل ریخت‌شناسی آسکوکارپ، آسک و آسکوسپورها و خصوصیات فرم غیرجنسی شامل کنیدیوفور، فیالید، کنیدیوم و کلامیدوسپور برای تشخیص استفاده شد. از اغلب پنیرهای موجود درکارخانجات استان فارس و خوزستان گونه Byssochlamys spectabilis به عنوان فرم جنسی Paecilomyces varioii تشخیص داده شد که در بعضی از موارد فرم جنسی و غیر جنسی همراه بودند.
